NESDR Smart USB disconnect issues/USB hub recommendation.

I've come across an issue with my NESDR Smart where it is super inconsistent in connecting and staying connected. I don't think it is a power issue but a hardware issue, I figured I can kill 2 birds with one stone and try a powered USB hub. Unfortunately I am pretty dubious of all of the USB 2.0 specific hubs given that they all seem to be the same model with different names. I know some 3.0 hubs will work but not all. I figured the people who run multi-dongle set-ups would have good advice. For context I'm using a Surface pro running windows 10.

... works for me.
But as you said: maybe it's a hardware problem, e.g. with the USB-A plug of your PC or of the USB extension cable.
Then the hub will not be the solution.

Ditto, just put mine on an extension cord for the same reason.
