• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Here's an interesting take on the telcos - more so now with the debate over net neutrality.

http://www.newnetworks.com/ShortSCANDALSummary.htm

The case is simple: Do you have a 45 Mbps, bi-directional service to your home, paying around $40? Do you have 500+ channels and can choose any competitive service? You paid an estimated $2000 for this product even though you did not receive it and it may never be available. Do you want your money back and the companies held accountable?

All true, but lets not forget what the economy has done since 9/11.

My wife worked at qwest and its predecessors Mountain bell and US Worst for 40 years and watched the value of her 401-k drop from $400K to 50K. (They wouln't let you sell it till after it dropped)
Most of this loss was caused by the Wild-eyed predictions (and promises) that You refer to.
It would be the ****s if they now let them get away with ANY infringement on net neutrality.
