Hey Gang,

When I rode with Netcong EMS always noticed the PD carried VHF HT1250's and i know from past practice they switch over and talk to Stanhope pd on 158.850 all the time. I was wondering if anyone knew the freqs they are on? I know they are the mobile repeater from
39.020. Thanks!

Its a very low power Cross-over repeater. Most likely a 1 or 4 watt. They can't talk too far away from their cars. It most likely licensed by the County of Morris who provides their dispatch. Look for Netcong to get on the County TRS.

I checked the license database for them and can't find them. It would suck if they went onto the TRS cause its stupid digital!! Ill keep trying to find them I guess. From where I live in hopatcong I just may be able to hear them. I know they have used from a distance before when ive gone a good distance into the woods with the pd before.

Hopatcong, Stanhope, & Byram Police

I am trying to figure out why on some nights I receive Hopatcong, Stanhope, & Byram all on 158.8500 173.8 and other nights I only get Hopatcong and half the time I can only receive 1/2 the Hopatcong conversation? I attached my scanner settings for the Uniden BC246T. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Why a digital scanner? Is Byram/Stanhope/Hopatcong Dispatch going to be switching or are you suggesting that Netcong PD will be migrating to the Morris County Trunked?

In regards to Hopatcong/Byram/Stanhope make sure you are using 158.850 thats the
output. They have no plans on going digital. The wont even spend any money to make
their system better cause there are way too many dead spots in byram.

As for netcong I wouldnt doubt them going to the MIRS Digital system. I think they
have it in their cars just not 100% sure.

Not to change the topic, but Hopatcong Police will be updating the Dispatch area. The Chief
is asking for money in this years budget to update and for 12 new Portables at a cost of $
23,000. Also, to update the Recorder to tape Phone and Radio calls.

Any time frame on Netcong going on MIRS? All of their cars already have the radios, they should just need portables.

The word is "soon". Not sure exactly when.

I heard them testing on portables a couple of weeks ago so sounds like they got em already.

Rocket:

Any idea if they have their own TG or if they will be sharing with Mendham as they did in the past on (39.02)? In an ideal world every town should have their own TG on the MIRS system for complete interoperability.

I believe the plan is to have some towns grouped together. As more towns migrate onto the system they'll need the towns sharing a talkgroup to reduce capacity.
