Nevada - California "Coordination"

A couple months ago I posed a question that received no response... but my interest is one again picqued. I asked...

When I lived in Illinois (and in my travels in other parts of the country) I enjoyed listening to the common law enforcement frequency - in Illinois it was called ISPERN (155.475). Virtually every police vehicle had this frequency, and it was used during chases that crossed from one town to the next (and for other inter-agency purposes).

Is there such a frequency in use in the Las Vegas valley? What about interagency comms with California and Arizona? They must talk with each other!

Last night the local news programs in Las Vegas were discussing the coordinated effort for the Labor Day weekend to deal with speeding and unsafe driving on I-15 between LV and Barstow. Today's Review Journal had an article containing the following:

"Highway patrols in both Nevada and California plan to put extra patrol cars on I-15 and surveillance planes in the air while coordinating a crackdown on speeding and other dangerous driving habits.

"We're actually working together as opposed to working our side separately," said Officer Adam Cortinas of the California Highway Patrol. "It makes it a little more effective when both sides of the state line are doing the same things at the same time."

So...I renew my question...is there an interagency frequency???

Kind of new at this but here is my two cents.

Southern Nevada does not need an interagency frequency because Las Vegas Metro PD has jurisdiction over the entire county.

If a chase etc. crosses into North Las Vegas etc Metro just keeps on going (kind of like a certin bunny).

County FD does have a chanel it shares with Henderson FD when needed.

This lack of a common chanel HAS caused problems in the past. I think this is why the CC Net (MY name for the county wide 800MHz system) is being brought on line, although very slowly.

I am sure that when the system is complete it will tie into the Nevada Radio System with links to Calif., Arizona and Utah

This joining of systems can be seen by looking at the users listed for the CC Net.
Everything from Henderson PD and FD to Animal Control and Airport stuff.

If we get a large disaster just think of the number of radios that "could" be used and that "could" talk to each other.

NHP units have (or at least, had) 154.920 in their radios, which is the California interagency frequency that CHP can also talk on. It was even easier when they were on low band since they could talk to a California dispatcher on Blue (42.340). If they don't keep their VHF radios, I suppose they'll have the 800 interagency freqs but they won't be able to talk to the CHP on those except through a scanner.
