I'm interested in finding out what are the current and correct Nevada Highway Patrol trunk frequencies, and how do you configure a Uniden BC785 to follow these frequencies (Step-by-Step procedures or a reference to the page/s in the 785D operator's manual with some explanation of what to enter and where). I have not been very success in configuring the 785D for any trunk frequency system. I seem to be missing key info to make things work right.

:D Thanks for the feedback. I'm new to trunk radio system and scanners. I do appreciate the assistance and info!!!

Do you have any experience with the Uniden 785D. I've read the info that you provided. What are the basic steps to program a scanner to receive trunk frequencies. Not sure what all the control channels do and significance of the sysid (731c). Do I enter all the frequencies and control channels in one of the scanner banks and program for trunk system (Motorala Type II). I've read my operator's manual, but Uniden assumes the users has experience with Trunk Radio Systems.

I'm not familiar with a 785 however this is how I think you should program it.
For the Nevada System all of the frequencies must be in "Logical Channel order"(LCN) in order to track properly. EDACS must be in LCN while Motorola does not.
You will need to program the frequencies from the closet tower to your location in LCN order in a bank you pick.
The NHP system is in ascending order, lowest to highest.
The control channel will be one of these frequencies and it does not matter which LCN it appears on.
The system is EDACS "wide" so if your scanner allows this type of choice you would chose "EDACS WIDE". You will also have to program in talk groups for the bank you have chosen. These are included in the data base at this web site. At this point you should be able to press scan and as soon as the scanner locks on the control channel it should start to trunk track.
This is the basic way to program for the system but I don't know exactly how to program the 785.
Bearcat scanner manuals are not too well written and tend to be a bit confusing. Hope this is some help to you.

Good Luck!!!
