I was searching the other day and uncovered the wierdest thing I've ever heard on a scanner. It's on 451.300 w/ tone 074 DPL. Every hour on the hour, it announces the time. Then it waits for some sort of acknowledgement by someone. If it doesn't receive acknowledgement, it will continue to assert itself every 15 seconds or so. Sometimes it will give diagnostic reports, like "Lights not responding." I have looked in the FCC database and I have no idea what in the world it could be. When I first heard it, I thought it might be a "haunted house" or something, where the owners installed this wierd radio system for theirselves. But I just don't know. It even has an evil laugh every now and then. Take a listen and see what you think.

Didn't hear it

I was on Broadway in south Edmond this afternoon at 2:00 and had 451.300 in the handheld; didn't hear anything at all from 1:55 to 2:05. Maybe it's something low power near you. I'll try to listen mornings on my way to work to see if I hear it anywhere.

It's been a year now, so I thought I'd refresh this thread and see if anyone could hear it around Warr Acres or NW Expressway around MacArthur. Never did figure out what it was....
