I am thinking this is maybe a pro-96 situation. I have everything but have not a thing on this system since it was programmed. I live at Dixie and 264 and work in Jeffersontown not far from where you were.

Oh well...Guess it wasn't to be.
LOL...

The only other thing is put them in as conventional and make sure the bank is not Trunked but FM, I think the MOT as Bank is confusing the scanner. But not sure. I do know I can hear digital noise on my 2055. Oh and the Pro-96 extended frequncies is a "gift" of Don Starr so the sensitivity may be really lacking, but StinkyB seems to receive it okay.

Stinky B, if you have the pro-96 and have the Ft Knox freqs setup, could you send me a copy? I am having a He** of a time trying to get this to work.

Any info is appreciated.

There is a real bargain on RR for a BCD396, and I almost got one3 off of ebay. but my wife will kill me if i did. Or you could wait for the new GRE.

I've attached your file back to you as a text file and Back 9 modified. Try it and see how it goes.

When I opened it it was nothing but code...nothing legible.

I will continue to investigate.
You need to delete the text part and make sure it has .p96 instead .p96.txt and then it should work. So just delete.txt and it should work and open win96

I just put all of the freqs in as FM NOT trunked, and no CT or DC codes either. The first bank is site 101, that is the only one I could monitor. I had to lock out the CC also.

I was on Grant line Rd in New Albany near IU Southeast and was receiving sites 101 and 102 loud and clear. I don't know what happened to site 103. And I'm not sure if coverage has improved or because it was 8 AM in the morning the reception was enhanced.

It's there... you must have a defective pro-96 or do a full reset (wipe out all memories except for factory), and program in just Ft Knox and see if that helps. To me it sounds like they are getting busier and more usage of the radios.

I heard some stuff around 11 last night on site 202.
Yes, range does seem to be much improved. Don't know the reason for it, but I'm hearing the signals now in places I previously did not.

I will keep checking to make sure that it is not a fluke.

You need to set the tables in the radio via WIN96 software. The radio defaults to 800 MHz channel numbers when reading the control channel data. Also, the Pro-96 isn't 'supposed' to work in the 380 MHz range. :)

Do you know what I am suppose to set the tables to by any chance? I have the program but am not very versed at the tables and they are used for.

Any help is appreciated.

I have a rough guess on tower sites based on listening.
Tower one is to the west, Three is to the North, and Tower two is to the east sides of Fort Knox.
Did some traveling and rough estimating. Still a work in progress based on listening while traveling.

I believe Fort Knox has boosted the power of one of it's tower sites.
Site 101 on CC frequency 387.4375 has been the strongest I've heard in a long time.

Could have been a fluke or conditions, but I think they've changed the pattern or boosted the power.

If anyone cares to take a listen. Also, the above is the new Control Channel frequency for that site. I believe it has been in use for 3 weeks or so.

I'll be sure and take a listen. I report there tomorrow for a year. Just bought a PSR-500. on my way to and from Louisville I picked them up on 65 (including one of the unknown TGs). So I'll listen and try to ID some of those unknowns. I do not have the premium subscription as of yet so if I figure out anything I'm going to have to let one of y'all know so you can update the database.

Good luck, thanx for being there.... if you can get a rough lat/long of the tower sites that would be awesome.... I think site one is by the The Head Shed.... and one along the southern end of Range Road with the thrid near Range Control.... any new info you glean would be awesome and very helpful.... just use the "Submission" on the Fort Knox TRS page....
you with the Tigers?
again, thanx for being there....

Once I get to know the base better I'll try and figure out the tower sites for you. One near Range Control would make sense though. I'm a reservist who has been activated. I believe I'm going to be with 3/81 but I could be mistaken. I'll find out for sure tomorrow. And thanks for your show of appreciation I got a long line of that tonight on the Dist. 4 ARES daily check in when I announced it would be my last check in for a while (except maybe weekends). I'm just doing my job though nothing more nothing less. I'm gonna live right outside Brandenburg gate in Maldraugh though so between there and actually being on post everyday I'll get in plenty of monitoring. Will advise when I have anything though. I'll listen as much and as hard as I can.

First, be careful, both in checking the system, but more importantly in doing your job. I mean things explode around you often. ;)

A simple way to check is to use the Spectrum Sweeper, it will only receive when in close proximity to a tower. At Camp Atterbury the antennas are on water towers for their radio system. I imagine it might be the same for Knox.

They did have an emergency drill last week, that helped confirm some of the emergency groups. And I think I have "Disneyland" Id, but have not had a chance to monitor that tower lately.
