Hi all,

I had a quick trip in the Chicago area and had some time to do some discovery of new systems, I picked up what seems to be a new Abbott Laboratories DMR Tier 3 System under license WNQK681

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I don't live close enough to hear these repeaters and try to determine LCNs, etc.

It appears that there will be some changes coming to this (and other 900 MHz) systems in the future. 936.500-939.500 MHz (and the corresponding 897.500-900.500 MHz input range) will be converted to LTE at some point in the future. Some current users in this range (like Northwestern University in Evanston and Chicago, IL) are already obtaining licenses in the 800 MHz range, presumably to replace their existing 900 MHz systems. See https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-21-450A1.pdf and Broadband Solutions for Critical Infrastructure Industries | Anterix for more information.

I might... 12-15 miles from those sites... still might be a stretch for 900MHz. I worked there, at both of those sites (MLK Drive is halfway between North Chicago and Abbott Park), for 26 years so I'm pretty familiar with the operation. I'll see what I can do in the next few days / weekend!

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I don't live close enough to hear these repeaters and try to determine LCNs, etc.

Well, I programmed all the site frequencies for Abbott Park per the new FCC licence on Saturday morning and have heard nothing over the last three days. I'm guessing I'm just too far away from the site at 12 miles... then again my listening was over the weekend and last night, so there might not have been much activity. I'll be listening again when I'm working from home during the day on Thursday. TRX-1 with RS-800 antenna.
