New AEP TGIDs in WV

I was going to submit this to the RR DB using the submission form, but I'm not completely sure that it should go under McDowell County.

I picked up this on 01/30/2013 and 01/31/2013:

08-081 AEP Iaeger, WV - Line Maintenance

I heard this over the AEP tower in Institute.

On the 30th and 31st, the maintenance man in the field said he was in Iaeger, WV, and on the 30th he also said, "This is McDowell County."

On the 31st, after saying he was in Iaeger, he said he was headed to Big Laurel.

I checked Google Maps and I don't see a Big Laurel marked as being in McDowell County, so I wasn't sure that I should submit it as such.

I decided to start a new thread for this because I didn't find any threads for "AEP" in the forum.

Just about anything you hear concerning AEP will go statewide(I only have Ansted tower in my scanner)and across state lines as well. Unless you think there is an actual tower in that area,I wouldn't worry too much about it. I get stuff from all over,from Ohio,Kentucky and Virginia in addition to WV when I was able to listen to my scanner.

I figured that AEP crews were state-wide, so I put all of the known TGs in WV in one list and associated them with my local tower (Institute). Then I added a Wildcard for the tower to make sure I don't miss anything during the next major (or minor) power outage.

I just didn't know whether I should classify 08-081 as a McDowell County TG in my submission to the database.

AEP is starting to switch to the OpenSky system in the Midwest. If they do that system-wide, the days of monitoring them with a scanner will be over.

I sure hope not, I never listened to a trunked system till I discovered this one.
I like to listen to AEP in bad weather.
