We were heading out south yesterday here in Abilene, and I spotted a new tower on Cedar Gap Mt. south of town right where the old KRBC TV tower was. At first I thought they had put up a new one after the old one had kissed mother earth from an ice storm in '07, but after emailing the chief engineer at the station he tells me that is AEP's new tower and he is not over that site now. So, I guess both TV stations are all digital off KTAB's tower on Hwy 36. I would bet the new AEP tower is part of the 800 trunking system. It has a neat little strobe flashing at the top.

Hey buddy, I've been hearing testing [on the frequencies associated with the Abilene site in the database] over the passed couple weeks. Just this morning, about 3 hours ago I heard a bunch of testing which sounded like counting LCN order and such.
I'm pretty sure the lcn listed on the db is not correct any more. But I'll keep listening and see what I hear.
Oh and btw, krbc and ktab are both still in analog over the air at the current time. I believe kxva is the only station that has shut down it's Analog signal to the area.

I think he means KRBC and KTAB now transmit from the same tower. Yes you are correct that only KXVA is all digital. I have to say I love watching 24 in HD with my rabbit ears. The other stations said they are going to wait until June to switch. Until then they will transmit both analog and digital.
