Hi My Friend !
It confirms that the Alinco DJ-X100E can decode the NX4800 NXDN mode and displays the encryption key.

It displays the frequency, RAN, and encryption key, and the sound is perfect.

Thanks, friend.
Let's wait and see if someone can confirm if it also decodes in NXDN NX9800 mode, the same as in NX4800 mode.

Thank you my friends

Best regards

Are we talking about the US or Japanese or European version of this radio? And what exactly are the differences in these versions?

@jasej Are you saying that you can program a NXDN4800 frequency that is encrypted and not supply the encryption key AND the scanner will determine what the encryption key is and display it on the screen and provide clear voice?

No scanner/receiver will do that.

Actually, if you get a Japanese version of the AOR DV10, that capability is available for NXDN4800 encrypted voice channels, but is disabled on US versions.

This is a page from the owner’s manual that tells you how, they play a word game on scramble vs encrypted.

Yes, my friend, that's correct.

The AOR AR-DV10 is compatible with the NXDN NX4800, exactly as you mentioned!

More information regarding NXDN reception.

I have the "T" version, which is the USA version. I enter a local NXDN business frequency. I select "NXDN" as the mode. I set the "UC" on the radio menu to "OFF". (The "UC" is the NXDN RAN code.) I can see the busy indicator on the screen when there is activity. However, I hear no voice. If I press the "Monitor" button on the radio, I can hear clear voice. If I enter the correct UC (RAN) code, I hear nothing, but if I press the monitor button, I hear digital noise. Strange!

Using the same Smiley antenna on both, I find the DJ-X100 pulls in flights into BDL farther out than the R15. Side note, I also like that the DJ-X100 allows treble (and bass) suppression.

I have the same problem with the European version.
If I program the RAN it does not receive. If I press the monitor key I can hear digital noise but no voice.

I have spoken to the distributor of the E-model in my country and he has asked me to write to him about these defects when I receive NXDN.
I have also explained to him that commercial FM radio in Europe does not start on 74MHz and so we cannot receive VHF Low 70-88MHz from the forest fire brigades.
They tell me that they are going to talk to Alinco Japan.
Maybe before Christmas we will have a firmware update that will correct these errors. 😂

Good afternoon, everyone.
I've discovered that the scanner skips the RAS, but in my case it only shows the Slot. It doesn't show the CC, the TG, or the ID.
Is the same thing happening to you?

One opservation I have seen is that when listen on DMR with RAS enabled then DJ-X100 receive it fine but it will not display the Color Code.
It only show the active Slot. Also to show Color code there has to be activity on the radio before show the Color code.
Any one know if there is a hidden option for this to show.
The same thing happens to me with the X100E version.

For the E version it unlocks POCSAG mode, audio inversion descrambler and auto find basic privacy for the NXDN and DCR modes.
Unfortunately, that software doesn't work for me. The software reads the COM port correctly, but it's not possible to read or write to my DJ-X100E.
I don't know what the problem could be.

It can't decode NXDN 4800 . In France, many Alps ski stations are in NXDN 4800 trunk . TRX-1 and TRX-2 are decoding so well . ACARS are now replaced by VDL-M2
I can confirm that with my E version it is possible to receive NXDN48.

Hi @jasej
How is this possible?
Mine doesn't show TG, ID. It only shows RAN and has problems decoding NXDN96.
My model is DJ-X100E
Can you tell us how you have configured it to give you that information and the encryption key information?
Thanks a lot.
