Here's a picture of the system with labels of the antennas, for anybody following along.

Yep, Sunday afternoon boredom.

Added a coaxial feed-through into the shack using 2" PVC pipe and an 90 degree elbow. The downward facing elbow keeps rain out and the pvc is stuffed with insulation around the coax to restrict insects and cold weather.

You are doing it the right way; So many radio hobbyist's fail to bring the coaxial cable correctly into the shack. They find out that it pays to think ahead, and wish they did from the get-go. I have something similar on my roof, going into the attic. Problem is that I had three more runs of coax which wouldn't fit into the inlet (one run of LMR400, and two RG8 runs), and end up piercing the attic vent leading those last three cables into the attic, then down across the attic floor through the insulation, and into a hole I cut in the ceiling of my closet in the shack. I've about filled up that inlet, so if I want to run more (and I'm sure I shall) I'll have to devise another method such as my original idea.

I will have to post some more recent pics, as I've added a few more side-arms on the Glen Martin 8 foot quad-pod.

The IMAX2000 has been used for both 10 and 11 meter applications. Yep, some hams actually aren't above keying up the old CB every now and again...

The nice thing about the IMAX's, they are widebanded enough to cover 10-12 meters without the need for a tuner.

I agree, K8PBX's bulkhead is probably the best looking one on the forums.

Before deciding on how I was going to do mine, his was one of several I reviewed. I chose to go a different route because I wanted to avoid the RF loss of having barrel connectors inline because my coax runs are all in excess of 75 feet and my goal was to use a single coax run from the antenna to it's radio, hence the feed-through and the absence of any bulkhead connector.

I love his "switch room". Beautiful!

No problems on your apps with the IMAX-2000a nice looking antenna a giant ground plane. I used your method of bringing the coax in the house 20 hrs ago, didn't think about the future and a used a smaller pvc wish I had a bigger size.

Nice looking set up all around.

The only thing I didn't like were his tower grounds, he should have used heavier ground wires such as the braided ground cables, otherwise nice setup :)

Without slighting the efforts of others ...

perhaps the best, hands down, bulkhead posted on radioreference.com so far, is K8PBX's. IMO, his is an example to be followed.

:)

Your right crayon, Steves tower install was an inspiration for me to build my tilt over with that clean look and neatness.

gc505, great job on your tower as well, you did a very nice antenna install on it!.
Take care
