Apopka has put on the air a new P25 system. The old Motorola Type II analog/digital system is still in place for now, minus 855.7125 (855.9625 is still on that system as a voice/alternating control channel)

System ID: 35A
WACN: BEE00
Site/Tower ID: 401

Frequencies: 770.35625, 770.60625, 855.7125 (control channel), 855.9625 (alternate control channel), the two 770 MHz channels are two slot TDMA only so far.

Unfortunately there is bad news:

The system is one of those Motorola FDMA/TDMA hybrid pre P25 Phase 2 systems as Pro96Com is showing it as a two slot TDMA system and half of the talkgroups seen so far has been encrypted.

It is assumed that Apopka PD will be encrypted and use the TDMA mode and Apopka FD and public works will not be encrypted and use the FDMA mode (hopefully)

Apopka always seems to want to be on the forefront of updating their radio systems. Wonder who from Motorola gets all the sales?

I don't know, but I'm heartbroken that we will no longer to be able to monitor when and where they will go to get their coffee and Bavarian creams.

Actually, if I lived in Apopka, I'd be ticked that I couldn't hear what crimes are committed (or not committed) in my community.

Anyhoo, thanks for the info, James.
