New at this hobbie

I have a Uniden BC898T and I have lost my EMS here in Ottawa. Now first things first... I am a scanner programing retard so could someone help me with this first problem. Second I need my EMS back. Oh so you all know I am a tow truck operator here in the capital. So I REALLY need my ems back.

Well, your EMS in Ottawa may have switched to Fleetnet, a Motorola Type 2 VHF system. http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=2560

I'm not sure a BC898 can track VHF systems...my guess would be no. Either way, if you want to try check the sticky at the top of this forum for programming clues.

Yes, the BC898T can track VHF trunk systems. As for Ottawa, program in the fleetnet tower frequencies for Zone 2 Ottawa. The Ems operates under the same fleetnet towers as OPP do, except EMS is analog and opp are digital.

Hi ,DerekCarr ... try this :

Hold the TRUNK button down until it beeps twice , select the bank you want to use.
Use the UP arrow or HOLD to find the different trunk types , stop when you see E2-HI,
press E
Next enter the freq's from site 006 from the link that was provided in the above post.
Press DATA
Choose Band Plan A
Enter a Base freq. 141.015 ,press E
Enter a Spacing of 15 , press E
Enter an Offset of 380 , press E

Put it in SEARCH and the tg's should come up.
