The past few nights I've heard people talk on 14-156. It's not in the data base. Anyone know what it's used for? At first I thought it might be the city side, but then later it sounds more like public safety.

Aurora is a weird system. I can hear them now and then just fine, other times you'd think they are on the other side of the state. That talk group still pops up, I still have no idea what it's used for, maybe security somewhere?

I have been listening to it for two days as well. Based on the conversation "school of pharmacy" so on, like that nature, it sounds to be a campus security although the system is combined with public safety and public works (not devided like Denver). Not to get off the topic but the UAL trunk system at DIA is shared with another company as well.

The new CU medical school is being built at Fitzsimmons, so maybe you heard right, and they will use the Aurora system for it.
DPD has recently let the DPS door shakers on their system--anything to save the children from bad guys--

(If they could only weed out the perverted teachers) :p

Of the four EDACS I listen to in Denver metro, Aurora's is one of the two I receive best. (West Metro being the worst.)

I can hear Aurora just fine. I don't know if they got rid of the system, but they can definitly be heard. They are one of the best I get(Denver being the second)

So does that mean DPD security can talk to DPD on their own radios? If another-heaven forbid-columbine happens?

Same goes with the new talk group for Aurora, lets call them CU security for kicks, can they talk to APD Dispatch?

DPS can talk to DPD, but they don't much, Since DPS security consists mostly of doorshakers and pizza eaters. The DPS radios are necked down as far as talkgroups for DPD.

I don't know about Aurora.

lol they must of had to drop their standards. When I worked for DPS back in highschool, I was told they only take ex law enforcement or military. Does anyone know if the DPD district cars even have a DPD channel? Or do they mostly do school contacts though school resource officers?

I am not sure this is hospital or school security...I heard them the other night check a house alarm. Any one have any Idea who's using 14-156 on Aurora's system?

Sounds like you're asking if DPD dist cars have the DPS talkgroup(s) ? I would venture to say, "maybe" !

If not, the comm center could always patch the two together.

Most likely the Aurora TG is C.U. Fitzsimmons Police. I understand they have been totally pro-voice since they jumped on the Aurora system.

Aurora Public Schools uses business UHF with 464.775 for buses and 464.975 for security/maint for years. There is another UHF in use possibly 464.875.

The only thing I am sure of is that the DPS radios have at least all the police district dispatch channels programmed in, they talk to the dispatchers occasionally. DPS seems to have only 1 talkgroup. Like Bill said, they could easily set up a patch. Sooner or later I will find out exactly--
Also I will park on the talkgroup you mentioned for Aurora and see if I can tell what it is. I programmed it in last nite

CU at AIP all carry motorolas and are on the DTRS system. My neighbor is a sgt there and he has is xts 5000 on his belt everyday that he leaves for work.

And why are we discussing dpd and dps on this. The thread has nothing to do with dpd or dps since we are talking about the aurora system.
