It is useful to have the backlight stay on during transmission. It is also useful to have it stay on a preset amount of time, both of which are already supported.
What is needed is a combination: on during squelch + a preset number of seconds. If the user presets to 10 seconds (the longest time preset allowed) and a transmission is longer than 10 seconds, the light turns off during the transmission. If it is set to stay on only during squelch open, this turns off too fast.
I'd like to have it stay on during an open squelch + 10 seconds (for example). The current times are OK, just allow the combination.
