The signal strength is lousy , but I can get about a 70% decode rate on the 2096 here in midtown...right now it shows the SYSID as 39F, with alternate T0101 and BEE00 messages.

I *think* I'm picking up a faint P25 CC signal on 868.7375 (which is listed on RR as a B City alternate CC) -- It looks like the SysId being broadcast is "39F"

Many of our radios, specifically base stations and mobiles have been programmed with the new system as well as the existing system. Before recently, if I switched a radio to a talk group on the new system in "bonked" and displayed "out-of-range." Now, selecting a new talk group brings up a signal strength icon and the radio successfully affiliates. I'll break the scanner and PSREdit out tonight and see if I can get the new control channel. Our emails have indicated that changeover to the new talkgroups is imminent.

Glad you reminded me...I had yet to try out Pro96Com until today...I left it running while performing other chores...I'll just dump the file content, if anyone wants the original files to read in Pro96Com and can't copy/paste them from here, or wants the affiliations.csv file (too long to paste here)just yell--

I'm still learning Pro96Com, so I have no good answer...but someone must have either taken it as gospel or have better info than us, because it just showed up in the RRDB in the Baltimore Project 25 trunked section...

The switchover to the P25 system and the new radio template (using the same frequencies) comes first (within weeks, apparently). The transition to the rebanded frequencies is not until after the summer. Actual reband transition timelines are dictated by the feds. Go figure,

OIC...so the mixing continues...

If you're really bored, leave your decoding scanner on 868.7 for a while....MOSCAD data, showing TG 49296 a la the Motorola system...

I'm hearing some limited amount of voice activity on the new system today -- I think it was TG 9273 -- my guess, based on the weather and the conversations I could make out it may be public works/snow plow activity....

The signal is pretty weak down here below BWI airport.

I'd love to know your programming scheme...obviously mixing 3600 and 9600 is verboten on the PRO-96, but even if I delete or lock out the 868.950 that is the alternate control channel for the existing City system, and program the rest, I get no traffic (except for the MOSCAD which I only get when I manually tune to 868.700). But according to Pro96Com, I should be hearing all sorts of goings on....especially tonight with the weather-related activity.....

I'm not sure about the PRO-96 -- I'm using a PSR-500 with a RS 800 Mhz ducky and a simple programed configuration.

I just created a new SYSTEM set to P25 AUTO with the single CC frequency of 868.7375 and a wildcard (search) TG....

TG 9273 is very active right now -- talking about road conditions - reporting lights out - just reported a vehicle spun out and blocking the road - asking units (8300, 83xx) to watch for plows that are driving around with their blade up, etc.

Signal is still very weak -- to really hear continuous conversations (but then still fairly weak) I have to go to the 2nd floor of my house and find a "sweet spot" -- my northern facing bathroom window is working best right now (-;

This signal is far weaker than the existing BCity trunk system - at least right now it is.... if they don't boost this thing before going full operational, I'm going to be back to having trouble listening to the City again -- and I'm only a few miles south of the City line!

I brought another radio up on the existing BCity system looking to match up an existing BCity system TG against the new P25 system TG (9273) that I'm hearing thinking maybe they are simulcasting across both systems for this one (apparently) test set of users -- didn't seem to be the case. The users seem to be solely on the new P25 system.

Signal is very weak in Hampden. Well, it's strange because my signal meter is showing full signal but the signal itself sounds awful.

EDIT: Re-programmed the "new" CC into a new P25 system and it's 99% decode in Hampden.

The new A2 DISP talk group ID is 9002 on the new system. One could deduce therefore that 9001 will be A1, and so on and so fourth.

Has anyone noticed a change in the old system power since yesterday? Last night I was running trunker on 868.95 around 6pm and it was coming in great. Today it's horribly weak...

I suppose it could be the time of day....

New Talk Group ID

Where did you find this information. I see it nowhere in the data base. Your help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

My scanner and a radio with the new programing in it.

Said radio is a dispatch base station, so the only talk group it had in it was A2, hence it being the only talk group I could check.

troymail,

So the PSR-500 will work however could be weak at times?

The systems isn't really loaded/active yet so I cannot tell you it will work for sure. All I can say right now is that during the snow storms, there was at least one talkgroup that was active and could be monitored using the PSR500. Without any other info from a reliable source, I'd wait and see.

There must be some custom table setting I need to put in the PRO-96 to get audio....Pro96Com actually gives two such site info suggestions, but the offsets don't look right (one is a -45, which Win96 won't accept)...I'll keep chugging away unless someone has figured it out...
