Accidentally left Pro96Com on for two days (control channel didn't change?)....attached is radios.txt and talkgroups.txt...

Should we start submitting the TGs or is it too early in the game yet?

All better now.

BTW, didn't there used to be a page in the Wiki that told how to translate the trunking table information in Pro96Com into entries for Win500?

I've been hearing a some voice activity on a couple of talkgroups in the last few days but the reception is so bad at my location I cannot make it out. Is anyone else picking this up?

Seems similar to what I saw with the BCity P25 system before it went live.... possibly techs or maybe a low priority user/org being allow to use the system.... not really sure.

I heard a lot of "testing 1 2 3...." yesterday. The reception for me in Baltimore city was very good. No different than the current system. I hope it stays that way.

I'm hearing the counting, yes. Though either my reception has gotten worse or they're having a LOT of dropouts.....

Drove around the south side of the beltway (695) from Glen Burnie in AA County into the Halethorpe/Landsdowne area of BaltimoreCounty and then onto Frederick Rd towards Howard.... Little to no signal being received in AA County but then like magic a solid signal just as I approached the B County line.... didn't hear any activity as I drove around (it's Saturday).... eventually headed home and of course once I was back in AA County someone decided to talk... sounded like a unit ID going "10-7" so seems like there's more there than just tests, etc. - but not much yet.

I'm told the Balt Co FD is presently on pace to have a digital go-live date in the latter part of January 2012. We shall see.

Scoop is that it is indeed to be an all-digital system including at least some encryption (likely FID at minimum). Y'all already know there are to be 2 zones: North will cover the very northern area of the county, up in the Station 440/430/480(I think it is?) AO with 3 towers and 12 available channels, while South is (obviously) everything else with 15 towers and 24 avail channels. BCoFD will be switching to this system soon, though I'm not exactly sure when.

I've noticed quite a bit of testing in the past few days, some sounding like techs (testing 1-2-3) and some casual type (I'm here, where are you and how do I sound). Some encrypted. Some on TG's not currently in the DB, actual use unknown.

Latest word that I have is that BCoFD is supposed to switch over at the end of January sometime. The radio shop came by to reprogram all our radios with the new system today, so all we gotta do is just switch zones and we should be good to go.

I think PD also has all new digital radios and are just about ready to switch as well.

I work in Woodlawn, not far from SSA. I assume I would use the North site?

TIA...Mike

From what I'm told, the northern zone has only 3 antenna sites, so I can only assume that they would be Maryland Line, Spookhill, and Hereford. Apparently, the northern zone will have 15 frequencies, and the "rest of the county" will have 25.

I'll try to check them tomorrow during my commutes.
