Here is my new base and mobile setup. It's simple and clean. The base radio is set up so I can record traffic to my laptop and save it was a WAV file using a VOX recorder. The only addition I am considering, is adding an antenna to improve reception on the radio in the car. I am just not sure how I want to go about it yet.

Equipment:

Base: Radio Shack PRO-160
Mobile: Radio Shack PRO-162
Programmed with Radio Shack Flash USB driver and BuTel ARC 160 Software for the PRO-160,162

Fire/Rescue Issued Equipment:

Motorola Minitor V
Motorola EX560-XLS

LoL, thanks, but those numbers are there so I can remember what banks of channels I have programmed into the radio.

Nice, don't see many EX560's (or that entire series) around too much.

I like how your Minitor has its own little cubby to hang out in. What do you have the minitor and ex560 programmed to?

Why do you have part of the frequency and the name of the entity blocked out in one display of your radio? This is all public domain obtainable information; Just curious?

Maybe he doesn't want anyone to know his secret freq that they use. Its kinda like the 66.6MHz in the Die Hard movie, but a few channels lower.
