New Base model to compliment 396 ?

Hey all--I'm new here, and I first wanted to say what a kick scanners are! I have had a ham license for many years now and recently got back into it with a VX-5R, and discovered monitoring again (always preferred VHF/UHF to HF). I was looking at a deciated monitor like the R20, but bought a BC246T on a hunch that it might be fun. What a blast 'scanning' is as opposed to 'monitoring'. Much more action, more listening, less waiting for something to happen. So now, I'm thinking a base scanner might be my next purchase.

Question is, does anybody know if Uniden will be announcing a new base scanner to improve on the 796, much like the 396 is an improvement over the 296?

Your thoughts, and if you could maybe throw in an opinion or two about the 796.
