Just purchased new scanner from HRO, updated SW, started to scan and noticed no sound from external speaker. WiFi works ok. Any idea? Should I contact uniden support or just return unit. Any help appreciated.
Start with HRO. Since you stated you just purchased, then you should be in their return timeframe. They should have an RMA process and should replace it. If you can't find return process on the website, a quick call during business hours will get you taken care of.
If you are getting audio using the Siren App via wifi, I'd suggest returning it to the place of purchase. Hopefully they have some type of exchange program for newly purchased scanners.
Uniden support may suggest you return it to Uniden for repair - there is a 1 year warranty.
The jack where you plug in a headphone will shut off the speaker and I suspect that is bad.
