New BCT15 and faint odor...

Just received a new BCT15 yesterday. I have noticed what seems like a faint electrical or plastic odor from the inside of the scanner. You can smell it near the openings in the case. There's no smoke or burning smell.

Anyone else notice this? I suspect it's just the plastics inside new the unit offgassing or heating up with use, but wanted to run it by the radio experts to see their thoughts.

Ive never noticed anything like that, but if its working fine I would just keep an eye on it....Hoser

I don't have one but lots of electronics have that new sort of plastic/electronics smell. As hose said if it's working right I wouldn't worry about it.

Its just the new car smell of electronics.
