I assumed they sometimes don't like it repeated, because they purposely don't want officers anticipating and reacting from what they hear? I don't know, just a guess.

But so far the SoCal stuff has been about 99.9% repeated. One night I heard two channels go off repeat for some reason. I thought... Oh here we go again. But it has stayed on since.

The change is good, even w/o repeat

The upgrades are apparent in audio quality and system coverage. Rebroadcasting is by no means a measure of the upgrade. Sometimes there was no rebroadcast before the upgrade.
I know it makes it more fun for the average scanner listener if the repeat function is on. Personally, I'll NEVER rely on it. Just program in the mobiles and get yourself an adequate antenna.

Other than the fact that White2 from Stockton is overmodulated/overcompressed, ALL of the signals within my ears certainly have better coverage now. I'd swear the mobiles even have better signals too, although that is hard to determine, since they are .. uh .. mobile.

The last few times I listened to the feed for Sacramento CHP it only had the base frequencies. It might be a good idea for the feed provider to put the mobiles in, especially since he has a good antenna. I usually listen to the feed to compare reception between my station and his. Of course his is much better because his antenna is outdoors. I'm using a Wilson 1000 mag-mount CB antenna on a metal heating duct underneath a window.

Any one know when border division is gettin done?

Border Division - Indio & El Centro are in process of having antennas replaced in preparation for the new freqs. No radio equipment has shown up yet.

Orange is next in line (Southern Division?).

Border Division - San Diego will be one of the last to be done because of replacement of the simulcast system

E5911; Mr. Antsy:

In addition to the Border Division, the Inland Division has had licenses issued for Barstow. Indio CHP has had licenses issued too. Hopefully the Border and Inland divisions will be done in the next month or two. Let me know if you need the new frequencies.

Orange is in Border Division.

Some frequencies for Border Division are still being set in jello as co-channel issues are identified and resolved.

Bay Area Changes

The aqua was heard being broadcast on 44.94 here in the Bay Area. Perhaps Golden Gate is the next area to be changed over.

I believe there is more than one team working the cut over. Work can be going on in both ends of the state at the same time.

Khaki Active

khaki is the new aqua - dublin area

Heard some changes this morning (new to me)..... on the new khaki (44.94), GG was dispatching Dublin along with 34 and 35 areas (not adjacent to Dublin). Hayward and C.V still on the aqua. Looks like a transitional set up.

More Khaki

34 is marin and 35 is oroville ? ???

they SHOULD be dispatching 25 , 118 , 126, 128,

Now I think the dispatcher was just simulcasting Marin with the khaki as I only heard Dublin units being repeated. Your list above should include Castro Valley (143), if all the occupants of the aqua move to the khaki. I suppose its just a matter of time when all the mobiles are reconfigured and operations on the khaki will resemble the aqua.

KHAKI is new in addition to AQUA which has not moved yet, but will move to AQUA2. From the frequency list, it looks like there was an "old" pair for KHAKI but maybe they never implemented it. They're simulcasting both 42.62 and 44.94 sometimes which is confusing because the dispatcher is simulcast but the mobiles repeat only on one or the other. I don't understand the 34 simulcast either.

AQUA is 25 (Hayward) / 143 (Castro Valley)
KHAKI is 118 (Dublin)
