The CHP repeater on 42.50 mhz has been turned off in San Jose. The simulcast on 453.825 is gone. That UHF repeater level is way down too. Little mobile traffic any more. Same dispatchers still handling both radios...

Right on time? 8-2010 is the scheduled time for a system overhaul in the area. I will add those Blue-2 frequencies to the scanner; but the only thing I'm hearing right now is the old Green and Black systems...

I think there's probably less people listening in the other areas, so less updates.

It was the first time I heard the dispatcher mention it she told some units tha were working the councors D elegance to switch to the coastal blue1 not blue2 that's what she said. So I'm guessing they are working on it or it's up and needs some testing? I have the new frequencies in also haven't heard nothing.

Makes sense to me. The CHP has used the Blue-1 frequencies during the Amgen Tour of California bike races too...

Maybe..hopefully Avatarsingh or someone else in the know can chime in on the CHPERS status. Down here in the Border Region (Orange County specifically) the 39.x freqs were going to stay the same, just change to the new PL plan and maybe upgrade to simulcast? for Green-1, Grey-1, and Purple-1. I know of some coordination issues but that affected different offices I believe.

Anyone with an update on the Border schedule in OC???

Thanks.

no budget = no money=no travel
unless the work can be done on a daily, no overtime basis it wont be done

radio techs wont be furloughed because their union have a contract pending legislature approval

evidently the cost "savings" only applies if you dont negotiate with ga$ hole

for every dollar "saved" thru furloughs it has cost taxpayers 7 $ not to mention 52 million every day without a budget

they are threatening to even turn off the gas cards for state vehicles

i hope nobodys radio system breaks down

this is supposed to be CENTRAL division changeover this month

NORTHERN sep / part of oct ------------- INLAND nov --------------- COASTAL dec/jan -------------

BORDER feb 11

Ahhh...yes that little budget issue. Makes sense for the delays. At least LA was done for the most part, just waiting for the upgrades to the OC channels.

Thanks Avatarsingh for the update.

When listening to Santa Ana's base freq I usually get a big blast of static at the end of transmission before my squelch kicks in. Is there anything I can do to minimize that?

I'm using a 246T and I don't seem to get the static blast with any other system I monitor.

I mainly monitor Green1 (Capo) so I don't have much input regarding Purple-1. If your 246 can decode PL, put it in...162.2 is the PL tone for this area. A few other things that could be happening..it's low band! Garbage everywhere radiating in this spectrum. The GE Mastr 2 base radios are getting long in the teeth and maybe it doesn't have a reverse burst method or it's operating out of spec. Others may have more info that are "intimately" involved with maintaining this equipment for CHP if they wish to chime in.

P25 extender in Oakland

Heard a P25 extender briefly today on 769.41875 coming up 880 into Oakland. Not long enough to tell which office it was. These are apparently under the State 700 MHz license.
