• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Went to one of their sites today and was surprised when Eva (I think) introduced herself so I could log in. They did away with keypad entry, it's all verbal and her response time seems to take 5+ seconds to recognize what I said. When I got my ticket number my pen didn't want to work so I missed the CFS or something similar but did get the 7 digits.
When I called to clear she wanted the whole string which I didn't have so after a few min on hold a guy came on and said
"hi, this is Jay" so I said "this is Jay" and he closed out the ticket based on my caller ID.

This started June 1.

Part of their split up?

Someone bought up their DAS/infrastructure side, and it's now called Arium Networks. Crown is still doing their tower thing. Had a call with them to cover all this, we've got both DAS and CC Towers on our site and I think some of their people are still trying to figure it out themselves.

Don't know if it's related but I was on hold for a few minutes until "I" answered, that never happened before.
My contact at Crown has not returned calls nor emails since last fall, guess he is still there.

I emailed one of the guys who handles our county's site, got a reply he was on vacation until June 1. Tried again yesterday, no reply. Tried the alternate and got a reply he retired. Found a 3rd contact from when I taught in Cannonsburg last year and he sent me to person #4 who said I needed to get someone in sales to give our ARES group permission to install a repeater.

Still waiting on them, going on day 3.

In order to close an NTP for an SBA site, you have to submit a closeout package. I submit a random picture from my phone and so far they haven't rejected it.
