Considering the county is broke this seems a bit much unless the SO & CHMA are onboard.

I think I posted about this already. I could be wrong. Check the wattage. Probably much more cost effective on a smaller scale... just for the courthouse maybe?

I had mentioned about this license too, in the Ohio Nexedge & Mototrbo thread. The emissions listed on the license is for 6.25 kHz Nexedge.

These are frequencies that Cleveland PD used to utilize before they went to their City-wide crap TRS system. There were probably a bunch of hand-helds already programmed with these freqs and it was cost effective to use them in this manner until Cleveland figures out how they are going to afford a better municipal system.

...I'm just thinking out loud here!

Cle Freqs

That would make sense, sure would be nice for CPD to get some "Obama" money for a new P-25 that was
open. But I am not holding my breath for that to happen.

cleveland is getting 800 grand in federal stimulas money for its new radio system. oh the joy!

That will buy about 80 repeaters (they have at least that many), but none of the other hardware necessary.

Or they could use it for interoperable radios at $3500 each, give or take. $800k would buy somewhere around 225 portables. Still not enough.

$800k is an awfully odd figure for a new radio system....

Cpd trs

Some Inter-Op setup would be helpfull, the various depts up here often have dispatchers using landline to coordinate car chases and other live events. Every region of the county uses different systems, CPD being the hardest to coordinate with. The Fire depts seem to be getting there act together but the LEO is a mess.
The way politics are in Cuyahoga I don't see a lot of interest in coordinating comms. Protecting there own control seems to trump getting along.
