New Detroit System

The new Detroit simulcast system is Project 25 Standard, so is that still 800mhz type 2 ?? I am still very new to digital trunk scanning. Please let me know. Thank You.

IF your scanner is a P25 scanner capable of the 9600 Baud control channel, then yes you can scan it. In most scanners it is programmed as a Mot Type II, ie Pro 96. Check your scanners manual. The Detriot system is actually part of the Michigan State Police system. New towers were added in the area and some existing towers had channels added to accomodate the increase in traffic.
