New digital system -- W. Que.

A new digital system is obviously in the works in West Quebec:
MRC de Papineau (do a TAFL search on Licensee Name).

Digital VHF, six 152-153/157-158MHz pairs (one output re-used), 8.3kHz
BW. Most licences still pending but CC heard on 152.555, don't know
the system type. Sites include Mt. Ripon and Val Des Monts, the
other I don't recognize.

Not a single taker on this?

The 152.555 CC doesn't sound like a "normal" active P25 CC, but it might
be, under test with some sort of idle pattern. Perhaps somebody could check
this? Think of all those snow plows we might be able to hear!

The other active CC is 152.435 at Lac Gagnon.

I hard P25 noise on this channel last week when I was up in Ottawa.. was wondering what it was.

Not a P25 control channel according to Pro96Com. Sounds like a more like Type II Control channel. I will keep and "ear" and eye on it.
