New Digital Talkgroup on NJSP B Troop

I picked up digital last night on the NJSP system on Talkgroup 176 (I don't know if this was encrypted or not). This is linked to 24576, where they have been doing radio repair testing for almost a week now.

You sure it wasn't Morris Co. They have a talkgroup with the same number. I think either MAPS or Road Dept. uses it.

No it was NJSP. It was heard on C-Troop also.

MAPS and Road Dept on the Morris system are analog.

On C, the 00176 digital was clear. Everything else I've ever logged (on C; I don't get B) was analog.

That makes me feel better. Does anyone know the chance that NJSP may go full-time encrypted?

The system in Troops B & C is capable right now. Troop A will be capable in a few months.

How the state decides to use the system is a mystery. If I were to guess I would think sensitive talkgroups would eventually switch to digital encrypted operation. (anti-terrorist, organized crime investigation, etc) How soon and if will happen are not known.

I do not think the normal 3 comm, 4 comm, etc talkgroups would switch over right away, if at all.

New Digital Talkgroup On NJSP

This morning on TGID 58704 I heard a DOT unit call in to North Comm on
58704 which should be Digital, but was Analog. This TGID was on the list
that nosoup4u posted somewhere the other day.

I heard some digital or encrpt on NJSP last night, didnt have time to look at the id i just saw NJSP on the LCD.
