This doesn't suprise me for some reason.

Is it possible to use turbo, nxdn, etc on the same frequencies and have more of a multiple trunking system than what it is now or would that defeat the purpose of just having nxdn users?

I do not think that word work as you would have 2 controllers and I can not see that working. Put them ford pistons in that chevy motor on that dodge crank.

Correct, you would need to have an completely different repeater for DMR and NXDN, much less P25. On TRS you would need separate controllers, repeaters, etc... As well as multiple mobiles and HT's for NexEDGE and TRBO etc...There is not an single subsciber unit that can do both, much less P25 lol. After all, DMR is TDMA, NXDN is completely different form of digital.

Hello,

I noticed a number of licensees in my area adding both DMR and NXDN emissions to their licenses. It gives them flexibility and it does not cost any more. There are a few LMR system operators in my area that run Analog, DMR, and NXDN on the same licenses.

The real deal is this: Its CYA when they update and narrowband.. The person responsible for maintaining the licenses just adds every narrowband and/or digital modulation to cover them all. You get an person that really knows whats going on only mods/adds what they will really be using. Others just throw it all on. Examples include VHF Low Band with narrowband emissions designations... We all know that is not happening. That as far as I know is not even feasible. Just like seeing an VHF Low Band wearing an P25 designator.
