According to the manual... yes there is a speaker on the front. And the 2 pin connector is on the left side which they show being used for an external speaker, headset etc.

Ahh they finally put a manwell up. ( https://www.retevis.com/resources_center/mannual/RT73-Multi-language(EU).pdf ) Ya, that would have answered a few questions. Looks like a lot of radio in a 5" box for a buck 79. Like I said I use hotspots but for those that have a use - looks like it might be a winner...if anyone pulls the trigger on one...please give us a hands on update!

I downloaded the CPS and took a look at it. Definitely a little on the rough side that's for sure. Only 16 channels in a zone, alpha tags are limited to 10 characters. Depending on your usage, might be an interesting unit. I was half considering one for just RX only usage but I'm not sure I can justify the cost. Neat form factor though!
