Wondering why they choose to do this. This might also mess with the ARC DV-1 Pro and similar programming software, although I'm not sure how they send it to the device. I hope it will have benefits for DV1 users. If you decide to install this firmware, you really need to back up your memory entries as well as other data to the SD card before installing the new firmware, because the warning in the write up about the new firmware update stated that the memory architecture is changing (i.e. - they are stored differently) is really true!!
Also, there is a firmware update for the DV-10 and it has the same changes but there is no warning in the description of the firmware about doing the back up. The memory data is really corrupt after the update until you restore the memory information from the backup.
The owner's manual for both receivers mentions that you should backup your data.
I did the update. My memories were untouched. ?Not sure which is true. Risky update or the ones mentioned updating okay really did.
no such phenomenon with 2504.DV1. Recording works fineAfter upgrade to 2504A (.DV2) got "NO RES. Mainboard" when recording audio.
Back to previous firmware (same SD card) and everything fine again.
Did not try another installation yet.
I just noticed, that the message "NO RES. Mainboard" is appearing if I remove the SD card while the DV1 is switched on. After re-inserting the SD and pressing the SCAN button the message disappears.no such phenomenon with 2504.DV1. Recording works fine
