New equipment purchase

Hi all,

I am upgrading my shack a bit - and I am looking for equipment opinions from the group. I am getting to get rid of my Icom 8500 and purchasing a BCT-15 for general airband and railroad monitioring. The posts on Eham are very favorable of this radio and I was wondering what the group thought of it. Do any of the new digital scanners perform better or equally as well on 108-136 Mhz? Just fishing before I lay out the cash.

VHF Aircraft band

I was one of the Beta testers for the BC15 so I am familiar with it.
Compared to the BC996 you will notice no difference on the VHF Aircraft band.

I have been using the BCT 15 and it works great. At first I wasn't happy with the scan speed, but found that the system hold setting needed adjusted. Once I did that the radio started to preform better than I expected.

Just wondering what condition is the 8500 and how much are you asking ?
