New Feed Computer

Well I am down to my last desktop that had saved to broadcast my feeds with. I am looking for ideasfor a new feed computer. This computer will only be for the feeds. and one program that emails fire calls to cellphones on. in order for it to work with firepaging program in will have to be able to run xp
I want something small like a thin client and doesnt use much power.

I am using an old Gateway Solo 1150 laptop. It has a 700Mhz Celeron and 192 MB RAM and seems to work fine for streaming the feed and keeping my IP address updated at OpenDNS. I just have it closed up in the corner with the screen off.

Or for around $400 you could go the Barix Instreamer route, it only draws 4 watts. But you wouldn't be able to run your fire paging program.

For less that $200 you can build a sweet little computer like mine.

Toss in my poormans SSD and you are good to go!

Indeed but make sure you get one that has Windows XP embedded installed.

Many of the lower cost ones need a server to boot from and will not run stand alone.
