• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

V2.04 was removed from production and we are waiting for support to release the replacement version. Just FYI downgrading from v2.04 is not advised by support.

The USA site is working fine

While the site is working, but the AutoUp link to upgrade firmware has not been working and is still down as of this post date/time.

Once the fix is out, and hopefully starts getting my pager working properly again, count me in as one of the ones that never upgrades it again.

I have a few G4's with v0.93 that I need to update ASAP before I can reprogram... Does anyone have a recent firmware file they can send me while the Unication site is down? I don't necessarily need (or want) v2.04... thanks!

There may be issues with v2.04 that I haven't seen discussed yet.

This is probably just a coincidence, but my G2N pager stopped letting me manually lock it after upgrading to beta firmware v2.04. I assumed it was a beta thing, and put up with it until the full release. Upon upgrading to release v2.04, it didn't fix the issue. I was still in warranty, so I did a warranty replacement. They sent me a brand new G2N pager and it had v2.04 installed from the factory. I booted it up without programming it or changing a single setting and straight from the factory I couldn't lock it. I sent them an email detailing this. That same week, they took down the download link for v2.04. So there's a good chance it's a firmware issue and not just user error or a single bad pager.

I’m with you, my older G5 is going to stay on 1.35 for the rest of its life unless I see some glowing reviews on here about how great and improved the latest firmware is performing. Not holding my breath.

I have 2, one I have at 1.35 with no intention of upgrading and another one I do occasionally update. I think it's at 2.02 but I actually had no intention of upgrading it from that. After reading this thread in its entirety, I'm glad I did that. Honesty the one with 1.35 has hit flawlessly since I installed it on it some time back and it's only due to getting another one (all were purchased well used) that I decided to mess with any updates.

Bumping my post about v0.93... Anyone able to help with the firmware so I can upgrade it before reprogramming it for a client?
Let me check I didn't think to upload it anywhere I can save it and the computer I was using crashed on me. If I have anything it would be either 2.02 OR, 1.35. 1.35 works jsut fine on my one G5, I've left it there to compare it against another G5 I do occasionally update

There might be some older versions archived on the Wayback Machine but I don’t know if they’re accessible or available for download.

Unfortunately the Wayback Machine just takes me to the form that gathers your name & serial number, no actual software link. Good idea though! I just don't understand why Unication would take down this (important) site without at least providing options for earlier firmware versions.

I’d check with someone like Ray or Phil @ East Coast Pagers about this one… not sure if you can leap directly to a newer version or need to do it in increments. For some reason I vaguely recall older units needing to do it in steps.
