I noticed an update this morning to the FRCC control channels. Front Range Communications Consortium (FRCC) Trunking System, Weld County, Colorado - Scanner Frequencies

FRCC site 555 (previously named Fort Lupton) with a control channel of 773.41875 has been updated to Weld County South Simulcast with a control channel of 772.79375. This appears to be correct.

However, the old control channel of 773.41875 is still broadcasting with a new site identifier of 561 so this would appear to be a new FRCC site. To my ear it sounds like this is a non-simulcast system. The frequency of 772.09375 is showing as being shared by both sites 555 and 561 so they must not be too close to each other. Also, this new site has 12 frequencies so is tied with two other existing sites as the largest sites in the FRCC system.

I'm sure someone is likely working on this however if not, here are a few quick details.

The new CC for SW Weld was also reporting a neighbor of site 52 which is not logged yet either. Here is the log I had submitted to the DB Admin for the SW Weld updates.

I wonder why they refer to it as Timnath Tower? I don't think Timnath has flagpole annexed that far North. Also, the tower is technically in Weld County by about 0.93 miles. This is a great addition, I was having trouble scanning FRCC from my location.

It's about 0.6 miles from the nearest border of Timnath and just over 1 mile away from Severance. It is probably a better name than just calling it the "Weld County" site. It's also referred to as just "Timnath" on the WQML772 license.

Good catch! There is no hint of a control signal on tower 52 this evening however it is currently showing as failed. It must be a new site in the works.
It might eventually be the Federal Heights Police Department that will cover Federal Heights and the Shaw Heights black hole. The FCC application is under review now. Normally they license sites months in advance, but I guess that maybe ADCOM/Federal Heights got their equipment at the same time as Weld County. If that's the case, it won't be formally online until a license is issued.

Makes sense about the "Timnath" site as Weld County announced earlier this year that they would be adding a site due to coverage issues in the Windsor area. Severance added a police department this year as well.

Kind of odd they would change the site ID for the Weld Southwest site.

Timnath is what FRCC calls that site.

All the current site names as listed by FRCC internally are reflected in the database.

Remember when submitting info to RRDB, there is no such thing as a site "561" in which some people have submitted (here and elsewhere).

Its RFSS 5, Site 61. It does make a big difference when some admins do not know the difference since some decoding software displays it that way, and they don't know any better. The hard limit for site numbers is nowhere near that, but the DB will accept it.

I have an open submission for Site 61, but the submitted callsign (WRDV975) is not showing valid in the FCC database last I checked

Look at these two licenses... it might match Site 61

FCC Callsign WQVA986 (WELD, COUNTY OF)
FCC Licenses for FRN: 0016454399 (Weld County)

_______________________
FCC callsign WRDV975 showing valid in the FCC database.
Just need to remember the RRDB FCC lookup doesn't include MW licenses (in most cases)
WRDV975 - Weld County Colorado
MW - Microwave Public Safety Pool

772 seems the be the correct one, as we normally do not use MW lic. 986 is in the area, but not for that site - but digging is a good thing.

Notes added to the site listing. It has a Fort Collins address, called Timnath by FRCC. 40800 CR 15 in the middle of a farm field. Site range that someone gave it was a 15 mile radius from the site. If the site can be reliably heard beyond 15 miles, please let me know. 15-20 miles is a typical radius we use - and as this is in the flat lands (vs say Buckhorn), its most likely a reasonable one.
