While searching the FCC's website, I found a new license WQLI208,(among other pending applications) for agencies in the South portion of Westchester County ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Trunked License - WQLI208 - WESTCHESTER, COUNTY OF - Frequencies Summary. On these applications two new frequencies are listed on the applications. In addition to the current four "known" freq's, new freq's listed are 473.2000 & 481.3125MHz. These input (base station to tower) frequencies would correspond to tower (freq's you would program in to your scanner) freq's of 470.2000 & 478.3125MHz.

If someone with trunked system decoding software (Trunker, Unitrunker, etc.) could start track these freq's, we will need to set up additional Base/Step/Offset tables for these freq's. When these freq's are or will be operational is unknown at this time

They only have one unit on the freqs?

No, this license, along with other YW licenses listed on this page, License Search, are pretty much "housekeeping" licenses for all the various agencies base station radios.

The main licenses for this System for the tower locations and mobiles are WQDW263 (North), WQBR539,WQHV394, & KVN918 (South). There are other "houskeeping" licenses WQGX404 - WQGX409, among others that only list base stations.

As of today (02/18/10) the above frequencies are now in operation for the South Zone of the System. I tracked both freq's this afternoon. I did have to program a second custom table for the South Zone Bank to track the 470.200Mhz freq.

I have seen a couple of variations on the bandplans, but I believe that the new frequencies will work with the current bandplans. I have the following bandplans in my BCT15 and BCD996T for the south system, and they work fine:
469.525 12.5 380
476.075 12.5 526

Using these numbers, 470.2 is channel 434 on the first plan and 478.3125 is channel 705 on the second.

If you use the plans shown on the RR database,
470.000 12.5 380
476.000 12.5 520

470.2 is then channel 396 on the first bandplan and 478.3125 is channel 711 on the second.

I would be interested to see what additional bandplan had to be added to receive 470.2 and on what type of scanner.

I was monitoring both the south and north systems today. I confirmed that the bandplan I had been using for the south system with the 469.525 as a base and 476.075 as a base does not work. The one listed in the RR database definitely does work:
470.000 12.5 380
476.000 12.5 520

Using this bandplan for both the north and south systems, I confirmed that the system can be received with the existing bandplans to include both new frequencies. I tried it on a GRE PSR-500 scanner, which will display the voice channel frequency when it tracks a talkgroup and confirmed that it was switching to both 470.2 and 478.3125. I would still be interested in hearing others' results and what bandplan had to be added.

Sorry, but I am a little confused. Do I need both the old band plan with the 469.525 and 476.075 and the new band plan, 470.00 and 476.00 setup in my scanner? That would be a total of 4 band plans? Can I use just the new set? Basically what I am asking is what should I put in my scanner for both the north and south zones. Thanks, Dave

If you use both the tables at Westchester County Public Safety Trunking System, Various, New York - Scanner Frequencies for the South Zone, you will be able to monitor all the freq's associated with the South Zone. The table with 470.0 is all you need to program for the North Zone, although you may as well program the 476.0 table there in case the North Zone gets any 476 - 482Mhz freq's in the future.

Only two tables are needed to monitor the System (North Zone only needs one table, while the South Zone requires two).

So for the South zone it should be

469.525 12.5 380
476.075 12.5 526
470.000 12.5 380
476.000 12.5 520

North Zone would be

470.000 12.5 380
476.000 12.5 520

Thanks for your help!!!

Westchester South Zone

You just need the 2 bandplans:
470.000 12.5 380
476.000 12.5 520.

This will work for both zones.
