The FCC approved two licences this week. One for NAU and the other for the City of Flagstaff. It appears that these are associated with re-banding. It's also possible that they may be used for a new system, possibly digital. I would appreciate it if someone reports on this forum when they go into use.

Likely somewhat off-topic from the original post, but maybe not...

From my home in St George Utah, I'm hearing a weak repeater on 153.935 with a tone of 67.0Hz. I don't find any listings for that freq in Utah, but do see it listed for the City of Flagstaff.

Traffic seems to be security-related, like at either a college or perhaps shopping mall -- talk of controlling traffic leaving a parking facility after an event, etc. One unit ID'ed as 1Victor##, which is a type of identifier extremely common to Utah public safety, & in fact a 1V unit would be in Beaver County Utah, only about 70 miles N of me.

Can someone confirm/deny I'm hearing Flagstaff, & if not, offer any other suggestions?

While I'm at it, can someone down that way confirm or deny that 151.130/114.8Hz repeater is the Yavapai County Sheriff? Whoever it is, it seems like "Keno" is their dispatch.

Thanks,

Tim

the closest 153.935 to you would be Lake Havasu city fire Flagstaff city services all use the 800 MHz trunk system, I haven't heard anything on VHF from Flag except fire dept. in a long time and no YCSO is not on 151.13 nor do they use the call sign Keno.

The YCSO jail in the Verde Valley is on 151.31 but the signal is local to the Verde valley area and you wouldn't hear it up in Utah.

Thanks,

153.935 PL 67.0 is the Las Vegas convention center. 151.13 is listed as St. George Fire-2, but with a different PL. Although "Keno" might be "Reno" and some Nevada system.

Thanks guys! It's the Las Vegas Convention Center that I'm hearing.

Here's another on for you: 168.350/167.9Hz. Repeater seems to be USFS or NPS down around the Flagstaff area. I've heard “623” base station communicating with “Fire ##” units. One unit advised he was 10 minutes out of Flagstaff. “Robbers Roost” & “River Medical” also heard mentioned. Seems to be BLM, NPS or USFS in Grand Canyon area. These days, I hear a lot of what sounds like snow plows on it. On guyt mentioned "66," would could have been a mile marker, or Route 66. The freq is a federal itinerant, used by smoke-jumpers and sometime Zion National Park for simplex use.
