• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I filled out the application and paid 35.00 4-21-2022 and I have yet heard anything. When I do a search with my FRN it just shows my ham license and nothing pending for GMRS. I heard they had a crash did my application get lost and I'm out of 35.00?

You should be able to locate your pending application if you log in on ULS with your FRN. If you cannot find your pending application, it may indeed be lost. I tried filing a Part 90 on Monday, three times and it crashed each time. The help desk verified that there were system problems on Monday. I can only imagine that Tuesday -on, was a mess with GMRS applicants.

FWIW, I applied for a GMRS license Friday evening at 5:45 PM, 22 April 2022 and had my GMRS callsign just after 6 AM on Saturday, 23 April 2022. So the FCC’s system was working then.

Most of the generic FCC searches are for Active licenses, when the flag is changed, to Expired,. Pending etc, much more is then found
Wow thanks so much I could never find this. Well at least I know its pending

The FCC usually processes applications overnight after each business day so If you applied on a weekend the earliest it will probably be completed is the following Tuesday.

There are new GMRS licenses that show an "entry" date of 4-21-2022 and a grant date of 4-22-2022.

Your application is in the system, shows as "pending".
Shows pending for "Offlined for Alert List Review". Someone with a similar name pops up on some web searches for some bad stuff. Give them a day or two to sort it out.

That is weird I have had a Ham License for 30 years. I give them to end of the week. Then guess maybe I better contact them. I think I saw a contact number on the website.

Good luck with that. It's their call center.

"Offlined for Alert List Review" means the application was flagged and will have to be manually reviewed. That could mean a delay.

Alert List - A list of potential categories of "problem" applications so that ULS can identify them and send them offline for manual processing. The alert list function can then be used to flag applications based on the identity of the applicant, the spectrum being applied for, or the type of license being sought.

In Post #3 above, I mentioned that I applied Friday evening and had my license at sunup Saturday morning. A friend of mine here in Baltimore also applied Friday evening but his application, like yours, was flagged for a manual review. My friend’s license was issued this morning, Tuesday 26 April 2022. So hang in there, you shouldn’t have to wait too long as long as you don’t have any skeletons hanging in your closet. Keep us posted.

No skeletons in my closet. Like I said before I have had a Ham ticket for 30 years and never had a problem. I will keep checking probably just my luck.
