Greetings... A friend and I hoped to create a place for open communication surrounding scanners in the Windsor area. We hope to work together on building an up to date database of frequencies for the area since Windsor seems to be lacking one. Most listings I've found have been quite out of date. Sharing info and talking about all things relating to scanning is welcome though. I want to keep the feeling of a live conversation going. So membership is moderated, but posts will be open so communication can run freely and quickly.

I've uploaded some photos I took in Windsor in the last few years for different subjects like Air, Police, Fire, Ambulance, Marine, Weather... As well as some links. It would be great to meet more people in the Windsor area though.

You can find the group here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/windsorscannerwatch/

Many thanks.

I guess the Windsor database here is not good enough for ya?

Perhaps the database would be better if people in Windsor contributed? Not sure how you plan to drum up support for your group but good luck.

It's very good for the trunked systems. Just want to work on all the little bits. : ) Also to pull people together, maybe meet for coffee once in a while and talk about scanning. Like my good friend used to do years ago here with his HAM buddies. We're all big fans of RR. Just wanted to have a place to bring people in town together.

Oh when you quoted me above, didn't mean RR is out of date. Just these very old listings I keep finding. We hope to update things now that many Uniden scanners have Close Call on them. Hopefully we can start working on a more up to date listing.

I don't think some people understand that the database isn't JUST for trunked systems but for listing any/all frequencies of interest. Once one figures out what a frequency is linked to, I suppose one could submit it and see if RR deems it database worthy.

From what I understood its for major frequencies, but if it for businesses like taxi company's and such then I will start to post those also

The database guidelines are a must read. They indicate what type of submissions we are looking for.

Taxi's could be considered transportation so they would be included. Other business' would have to fall under one of the "acceptable" categories before being included.

Good luck with your endeavour.

Thank you. It's going very well and comforting. 15 members now and another Windsor group merged with us. Lots of photos dealing with Fire, Police, EMS, Marine, Aviation... We will be sure to get things organized before we send the findings here so people will know it's all current and up to date.
