I have to questions. Forgive me if they've been asked.

Is there such thing as a Trunked Digital system? Is there any word on when DPD might go digital? Does anyone here listen to Buckley? I've programed them into my pro-97 and I don't hear anything..Just wondering.

The State of Colorado system is a 9600 baud Digital Trunked Radio System (DTRS).

No plans for Denver to move to this system anytime in the near future.

lol nope I have a feeling I did not program it right...Just wanted to make sure. Sorry for the dumb rookie questions, if I would of checked out the site I would of known DTRS ment trunked.

I've got Buckley (Federal System really) in my 396 and 96, however, I have never had great luck with getting the 96 to track it consistently.
Denver is rumored to be close to CSK (is that the right three letter acronym??), but that is not digital. They would go to OpenSky or ProVoice digital before they join the DTRS.

One would assume that a logical migration path would be ProVoice as opposed to OpenSky.

I don't think that they'll even join DTRS. They may do ProVoice digital, but then they may not They seem to all have P7100ip radios, but who knows if they purchased the ProVoice option in them.

I think you mean ESK and not CSK - and that is simply a control channel feature that won't allow unauthorized radios (or scanners) to track the system. It has nothing to do with digital voice transmissions.

So I finally got Win97, and inported the buckley info from the main page. Is there some speical thing I have to do to listen to them? Did they go digital?

Yes, they are P25 digital.
