got my technician license last week so i'm really new to this world...and thoroughly confused. to add to my confusion, i'm half Polish. :p

i've downloaded and installed the Python software, Chirp seems to be opening correctly for the most part, but not 100% correct.

each time i open Chirp i'm getting the message that there is a newer version. i've downloaded the newest version but dont know why i keep getting the newer version message each time i open it. i'm marginally computer literate, but i have no idea what's going on here.

any hints or suggestions are appreciated. thank you for your time.

cheers and 73

This could be considered a silly suggestion, but you have downloaded the newer version...but are you running the newer version? Downloading ≠ running.

that Sir, is a very valid question.
i'll double check which version i am actually running this afternoon.

and the grandma that did speak Polish didnt teach it to her kids, my Mom being one of them. she wanted the kids to speak English.
a very admirable goal, but we do wish she'd have taught everyone both.

but...agreed on this!

OP,

I'm running Chirp on a Mac. Every time I open Chirp it tells me there is a newer version of the software, just like it does for you. This is normal, as there is a new version put out frequently, as it is open sourced software. If you've noticed the file name for Chirp, it is the date of the release of that version, such as "chirp-daily-20190905-installer.exe" which will tell you which version you have. You can go to the following URL to see what the current release is.
