Good day everyone new to this and i have one question. I live in Newcastle ontario canada i waa this site to find some frequency to program my scanner how ever im not sure if i need to put everyone of them in as some channels just have an annoying buzz and some work. How many frequencies do i put in for one area? Thanks in advance.

It would help to know what scanner you have and please post a link to the systems you are trying to monitor - from the database.

System ids are 8230 782D and 822F as i travel to all these areas. Thank you

Unfortunately, that scanner would not work for the systems you list. The scanner is not a trunking scanner, so all you could do would be to enter the system frequencies and hope you hear something that makes sense. The scanner cannot follow a conversation on a trunked system.

Also, for the three systems you list, it appears that many of the talkgroups are digital, and your 355N is not capable of receiving digital transmissions. That's the "annoying buzz" you're hearing, a digital transmission.

Thank you. I now have a baofeng uv-5r just wondering which frequency i put in? I have 125 spaces to fill. Just wonder for lets say mowat would i enter all the frequency or just one?

You can enter all of the frequencies for a site (like Mowat) and listen to all of the digital transmissions along with the analog ambulance calls. It's going to suck, but yes, you can do it. I'd imagine you'd get fed up with it before too long.

If you do input frequencies you need to inhibit transmit unless licensed for your specific frequencies.
