Hi guys,
Just yesterday I programmed most all of the Wilmington frequencies into my new Pro-96 (yeah, I went with the Pro-96 instead of the 97) that I got off of the RR database. I used Win96 and it was a piece of cake. 95% of what I am picking up is the 800mhz trunked system that the city uses. I was wondering if others are able to pick up the NH Co. Sheriffs Dept and if so what frequencies? I put in the ones listed in the database (4XX.00000mhz) but so far I haven't been able to hear much from them at all.

I would also like to monitor military and/or civilian air traffic in the area. Does anyone know good frequencies to use? I tried finding the tower frequencies for ILM but have had no luck. Thanks.

I looked at the trunking system for Wilmington - New Hanover Co. Trunk ID's are in there.
The conventional freqs. you are listening to say that they are patched to the Wilmington - NH County trunk system.
Check out the data base again for Wil/ NH Co trunking and go further down in the talk groups.

Mark,
Thanks for pointing that out to me. Looks like I have already been listening to them and just didn't realize it :) Now I'll have to program the ID's into the scanner.

Anyone know any good air traffic frequencies that can be heard in Wilmington? Thanks again.

I just moved here (Wilmington) a few months ago and have been monitoring New Hanover County with my BR330T. I basically only listen to Wilmington but have all the ID's programmed for New Hanover County. As far as the ILM tower I believe correct me if i am wrong but towers are always heard of the aircraft band (ie.108-136am or 225-399am) just do a search in that range I would think you would pick up the tower. How do you like that Pro-96?? I was considering getting that one but really got my eyes set on either the BCD796T or the BCD996T or even both....Also I've programmed some medevac frequencies in the past and heard some traffic on there once in a while I think it was New Hanover's Airlink..

Jeff,
Thanks for the links! I'm already listening to many of the frequencies. I'm using the 800MHz RS Antenna on my Pro-96 and it does an ok job of picking up the air frequencies. I've got the Diamond antenna on order, hope it improves it a bit.

The Sampson County Sherriffs Department Is On 460.200 This Frequency Might Change Sometime But Likely Not Too Change Anytime Soon.
The Dunn NC Police Is On 800MHZ But First I Would Try 460.200 Too See If It Works On The Sampson County Sherrifs Dept Channel.
If You Have Any Questions You Can Contact Public Safety.
