New home patrol not picking up local

I have purchased home patrol 1 and have loaded our zip code -- not receiving much on the scanner. Basically nothing from our county or city but am receiving from other areas. Is there something further i need to do? Thanks

Need a LOT more info here.

1. Did you load the software and update the Master Database.

2. What is your Zipcode or "our county"?

3. What Service Types are enabled and what do you want to listen to?

Hey Deb, I've been using the home patrol-1 for a year now, but I'm no know it all when it comes to this radio. What county/city do You live in? are You picking up your county/city on another scanner but not the home patrol? are You monitoring full database? what about type of services? I know in my county, 3 frequencies are on pd tac and 1 is on talk. hope this helps
