I changed to new batteries and the light turns green when charging is complete.
Hmmm. Also will flash if bad input voltage detected. USB voltage is a standard 5V regardless of the adapter's current capacity. The HP-2 will only draw the amount of current that it needs (which is less than 500 mA when turned off and charging).
Unless I'm using the HP-2 on a road trip, or temporarily in a different room, mine stays plugged in to a USB power source 24/7.New HP-2 owner. Charged mine for around 18 hrs.. All I ever got was a flashing red charge LED. Upper right corner icon shows charging when plugged in. Took off charge (unplugged USB),battery level shows full. Went completely dead prior to my charging via wall charger,so apparently it did successfully charge the batteries.I,too have the same question.....will it harm the HP-2 to leave on USB wall charger all the time? In the meantime,I'm charging then unplugging. BTW.....so far this is a fantastic radio.....amazing how sensitive it is. Good job Uniden.
