Finally got home for winter break and first good snow up here. I've been scanning for dot codes and have come across some new ones. This is what I have so far

Algona NAC:014 on 156.0450
Garner NAC:021 on 159.1950
????? NAC:027 on 159.1950 (had to much error to listen so i would say somewhere around belmond or nora springs)

It would be be nice to get the whole state done with frequency and NAC code. I hate to generalize my tags in the my scanner "DOT Repeater". I rather have a name(town/county) and NAC to go along with it and throw some GPS coornidates on it, rather then use quick keys. The only thing I have to decode NAC is on my scanner in the car.

They are using the ISP HELPER here in the CR area for plows, along with what is in the data base already.

I did some looking at 159.150. Hampton, Charles City, and Hanlotown are licensed for 159.195(100 watts).

I'm not saying this is one of them, but could maybe help you pin point???

Are you saying that Marshaltown Freq is 159.800 or 158.800?
I have been getting some NAC activity from my GRE-500 and will need to start writing them down for the Waterloo area.

Are there other IDOT frequencies that are active in the Council Bluffs area besides 159.195?

Try this Rich:

151.085
151.190
151.250
151.325
156.045
158.895
159.120
159.165
159.180
159.195
159.360

Those are used statewide in Iowa. Some frequencies double as a input in one area and as a output in another area. For the most part, each county in Iowa has a DOT shed. I would guess you can probably hear 2-4 different sheds.

Here is what I could dig out of the FCC search:

Pott County:

Avoca, Oakland, McClelland, Council Bluffs, Miden Township: 159.180

Avoca, Council Bluffs: 159.195

Harrison County:

Jefferson Township(Logan): 158.895

Mills County:

Center Township(East of Glenwood a few miles): 151.085, 159.195

That should help you narrow things down.

Waterloo DOT

I am very active in Waterloo at 159.165 NAC of 032
If anyone has a GRE PSR-500 using ARC Software, I would like to begin a discussion with you. I am trying to understand what the best way would be to program some of these known NAC's. Do we just do a search setting, or can we plug the actual NAC, and if so, where?
Thanks

with my uniden 396xt i have a bank of dot freqs set for search and then another with the town/nac combination. I also use proscan which supports recording and history with nac codes if the search is on.
