And folks - there it is. Livingston Police testing - ENC - I can see them, but I cannot hear them. They are running tests now so far only on 5107 but I have seen traffic also on 5109, 5111 from Livingston RID's.

Since OP - Now seeing TG 5113 also with E.

I sent you a private message re: Livingston PD

Well I was told by someone I know they they system is live, but all the radios have not been issued. I also heard one unit say on regular channel - "lets go down SOA" and then the RID's started popping on the 5107 talkgroup. I also been told the officers do not have their portables yet.

I'd like to remind you guys that there is a thread dedicated to discussion of municipalities that are migrating to NJICS. This here thread is intended for discussion of statewide agencies and/or the system itself.

All over the map.
Relevant to system ops more than migration considering they already migrated, but feel free to move the post if it doesn't fit GTR or Scott:

It may have already happened on Wednesday, I haven't had time to listen. But...Union County plans to stop full-time simulcasting Cranford Fire from the NJICS to UHF before the end of the month. All APX mobiles and portables are now in service. The UHF repeater system will remain a valid frequency for recall and callmens' pagers, and will be retained as a fallback. Like with other users in the county, 2400 retains the ability to patch to the UHF frequency at any time in accordance with the county's standard communications contingency plans.

A solid source also indicates that New Providence can now affiliate to both West Orange and Union County, and 4815 isn't being forced to UC Simulcast only. Apparently that was the fix to the technical, non-political issues that let them back to UHF for a bit.

The Site NAC for 26 High Point and 27 Walpack have recently changed. High Point from 396 to 390, and Walpack from 397 to 39A.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to check your local sites to make sure the NAC has not changed. Here is a list of all of the sites with the corresponding NAC.

Does anyone know the radio IDs for ALS 901/902, now Medic 4/5, I believe. I searched John's radio id sheet and may have missed them.

Alpine's NAC is now 39C, so changes are being made. How many sites are affected remains to be seen.

Also, the channel assignment at 22 Ramapo has changed. In is 771.45625, out is 773.78125.

thanks for the updates GTR. Wonder if plans to bring Echo Lake online are brewing, and they’re moving frequencies around?

The change to the Ramapo (Ringwood) frequencies was due to co-channel interference from NYS, so they decided to add that site to the future Passaic Simulcast cell (which it really should've been part of anyway). Unfortunately they hit a snag in that one of the frequencies licensed for that simulcast can't be used at Ramapo (769.08125), so it remains to be seen what it will ultimately look like when it does come online.

I confirmed the following NACs tonight. The ones in red have changed.

1 - West Orange Simulcast (390)
2 - Hunterdon Simulcast (392)
3 - Bordentown Simulcast (394)
5 - Hammonton Simulcast (395)
13 - Alpine (39C)
14 - Freehold (390)
22 - Ramapo (390)
24 - Netcong (390)
26 - High Point (390)
27 - Walpack (39A)

30 - Bowling Green (390)
31 - Cranbury (39E)
32 - Washington (390)
33 - Randolph (390)
34 - Wall (394)

What is the reasoning for changing NACs? I have noticed that on the PA state system, the NACs have changed multiple times for some sites. Is there a particular reason this would be done?

Primarily to avoid co-channel interference when frequencies are shared/reused at multiple sites within the same system. Some systems, such as STARNet, make it a habit to assign a different NAC to all neighboring sites, even if no frequencies are shared. STARNet is using all 16 variations of the NAC related to the 942 SysID, i.e. 940-94F. It appears that NJICS is now starting to do the same in some instances, whereas previously most of the ASR sites were 390 (and still are mostly), and the simulcast sites used 390-395. Now we're seeing 39A-39E in the mix.
