NJSP updated the NJICS website. Has a whole lot more info on it then the old OIT website did including new coverage maps dated 5/2023.
Looking at the maps it appears the Freehold tower will be moving to the water tower site off Jackson Mills Rd by Stone Hill Rd. I had originally heard it was moving to the AT&T building by the mall.NJSP updated the NJICS website. You live in Sloatsburg, surrounded by mountains, which block most signal coming up from NJ. This is a YOU issue, not a system issue. You're complaining about not being able to hear a system that is not supposed to cover where you live, across the state line in a village that the NJSP has nothing to do with. I've already advised you that this is not the correct thread to post about reception issues from out of state, yet you persist. Enough already.njsp still very spotty reception
I suggest you move closer to the intended coverage area of this system.njsp still very spotty reception
I do not see 14 reporting to any other sites. I also get no CC activity on any of the CC’s. I made a DB sub. We shall see what transpires. The Freehold CC is off the air and it's no longer showing as a peer on Site 22.
Best guess is that the new site is up and running as a Site 22 sub but I'll try to take a ride by the old and new sites and see what's what soon to confirm.
Well then, that explains the signal level increase I see from Telegraph Hill, which of course is not reporting 14 any longer.Freehold is now part of the Monmouth (aka Telegraph Hill) cell. It was noted some time ago that this change would be taking place at some point. That point is now.
Good example of why I'm not using the official simulcast names in the RRDB, because calling that cell "Telegraph Hill" as the state does, while technically correct, is misleading in the context of discussing the simulcast cell that now covers most of Monmouth County. For many years Telegraph Hill was an ASR, and so most non-technical users are going to continue to think of it as such when they see references to "Telegraph Hill", so let's try to keep that in mind when discussing the system. The same is true for the "Toms River" cell and any other cell the state refers to by the prime site (subsite) name.Well then, that explains the signal level increase I see from Telegraph Hill.
There is a tower behind city hall (police station) on plum streetDoes anyone know where the Plum Street tower is in Vineland? Is it transmitting. I was in the area recently and discovered that the water tower on Elmer and East Ave is operating. It wasn't 3 months ago. But signal was not real strong until I got within 2 miles of that location.
I did a drive by of Kozloski Rd the other day and confirmed 22 was no longer broadcasting from there any longer. I just haven’t had the opportunity with the weather to check out Jackson Mills to see if the new site is up yet.Freehold is now part of the Monmouth (aka Telegraph Hill) cell. Thank you. I'll test there soon. There is a tower behind city hall (police station) on plum street
We could make it more confusing if we start talking subs. Not sure anyone would understand me if I said I could hear 22.1 perfectly from my house...Good example of why I'm not using the official simulcast names in the RRDB, because calling that cell "Telegraph Hill" as the state does, while technically correct, is misleading in the context of discussing the simulcast cell that now covers most of Monmouth County. One would assume that means Holmdel but how would we know the interring of the other subs?We could make it more confusing if we start talking subs. Not sure anyone would understand me if I said I could hear 22.1 perfectly from my house...
I would help the power users to know the cell name and who resides in the cell, but thats about it. All the scanner is going to the user is the simulcast cell name. Unless someone knows which is their closet site in the cell, the decimal subsite info isnt really that relevant.22.1 is Telegraph Hill subsite, also the cell's prime site and namesake.
And before someone chimes in about FCC licenses...no, the "Site Numbers" on the FCC licenses have no direct correlation to either the ASTRO 25 Site ID or Subsite ID. Any "matches" found are purely coincidental.
PS - I have thought about including the subsite ID's in the site details for each cell, however it would be of little value to 99% of users.
