If it is not readily apparent the REMU group is well along fully encrypting the entire State Police.

The RR Database is being updated almost daily now.
It is appropriate the recognize the many DB entries @GTR8000 has made and RR member submissions.

Interoperability questions, no problem. Covered. The standard I/O Zones remain unaltered.

Need encryption I/O no problem, they have that covered too.

Hats off to this group, this is a remarkable achievement.

Encryption of hardware is the easy part, implementing it not so much. Ouch, I understand. Well thought out and implemented with light speed (for government) IMHO. No cutting corners either, like Tony says in Essex, let’s roll!

The time is near (so I am told). Not many things stay the same, however a couple things do come to mind.

Soapbox. Simple. State and County always prevail over local land use laws when benefiting the public good.

No hearings required. Approve after publishing somewhere. Objectors can always file with Superior Court.

That is a dead end. This is buttoned up.

“It is being constructed to support police, fire, and EMS radio communications as part of the New Jersey State Police 700-megahertz system. It is not a private or for-profit project. The project was actually scaled back from allowing cellular service. The tower is needed to provide reliable communication is critical during emergencies.”

Congratulations to Rahway Console RID 2000751 on the UC Hotline. Winning 1st place for the absolutely worst audio ever heard on a TRS. My goodness. That is 10 bad. How is that in service? Jimmy would meltdown. 😂

Are all the NJSP talk groups operating in E mode now. I’m aware that the database shows TE groups as well as in the clear. However over the weekend nada was heard on the clear TG’s.
Have they officially turned on the switch?
(Specifically GSP & Turnpike)

I was monitoring this weekend and found it to be a mix. I was high up in a building in Manhattan and monitoring West Orange, Union County, and Passaic County sites. It seemed as though I got the most clear comms on the Union County site. I think we are near the end.

Encryption sucks! I have been scanning since 1977 and it's a bummer.
Some say, you never know until you walk in someone else’s shoes.
These are different times and the list as to why gets longer on a regular basis.

How about fish spotters? White Tops on VHF AM? The list is long. Follow Marcy!

Seems hit or miss for sure. The Parkway channels have been the most active in the clear - I also monitor COMM 4 and seems like I get them if I lock in. I was also told might have been some CC updates, so I will need to look into that.

I would suggest monitoring the West Orange and Union County Simulcasts over the next 48hrs for potentially new (mostly encrypted) NJSP and Federal talkgroups. Good opportunity to add TG's to the Wiki and associate some RIDs to them.

They are logged by a couple of us. This block is totally secure and will remain secure, Living tomorrow today. 😂 I won’t be adding anything.

For reference and posterity's sake...NJSP is now secure as of around 13:00 this afternoon. The patches between the clear and secure talkgroups were knocked down, all that remain active are the secure talkgroups.

Commentary not necessary, as the topic has already been beaten to death, and frankly no one cares if you're upset about it. Keep this thread on-topic with discussions relevant to the NJICS itself.
